what a cute baby mouse lemur

Can you believe how tiny this little one is?

I am always amazed at how primates with their tiny, quite helpless young, have managed to thrive in the hostile surroundings that they inhabit!

Wow!
such a cute little wombat. Observe that it already has some rather sharp claws. They come in very handy for a life filled with digging.

Common Wombat

Amazing creature that has adapted to living in the ground. They can burrow hundreds of feet of tunnels.

White Rhino

Notice the color is not White. It is really sand grey. White would stand out like a sore thumb in the savannah. These guys need to keep a low profile as it is.

google adwords is giving me cheap but rather low quality traffic

It seems that adwords can give me traffic for as low as 5c per click but it is not of the highest quality of course. I need to tone up my keyword searches to make them more relevant of course.

I did finally register with google webmaster tools and got some interesting hints. When I have all the orders all done, hopefully by the end of Ramadan, I shall be looking through my incoming traffic to see which families to start with.

This is a classic on youtube. I hope everyone has seen it.

guerilla marketing and other silly things…

I don’t know what really possessed me but as I was browsing around the Apple store as is my wont, I looked up my site and bookmarked in the machine that I was looking at. Hey! if it gives me a few more users looking at my site, I can live with it.

Did you hear about this new expedition into the Himalayas and their extensive finds of new species. I particularly like the new muntjac, they call it leaf deer.   Isn’t it cute!

The problems of continued depredation of truly wild areas just tells how much we need to be doing to help in the cause of conservation. Let’s do our bit.

living tall but not large….

So, I finally got an ad network to give us some ads. The site looks a bit cluttered but , hey, I am not complaining. I made 6c today. It is considerably more than what I have ever made with Amazon.com’s affiliate account. I like it for setting links for media products but without impression payments, they are the first ads that I will ditch.

So who likes giraffes? A friend of mine sent me a rather funny giraffe picture today. Unfortunately, not legal to re-post it on a commercial site but i thought i might write about these tall folk…

Do you know that a giraffe’s tongue is prehensile( can act as a hand) and pick  acacia tree leaves and buds? It is also 18 inches long!! That is the length of your arm right up to your elbow!! Don’t believe me, well just take a look….

long tongue

long tongue

Did you know that giraffes have the most taut skin of any animal to help with the circulation of blood? It’s like they have a wet suit on all the time. Cool , hunh!

I am about done with the marsupial orders and will start on placentals in a couple of weeks, I think

i love stumbleUpon and Langurs of course!

folks! I had my second highest visit day due to StumbleUpon. Yes, it does amount to about 100 viewers yesterday only but considering that I have had a piddly 2-5 visitor days for a long time, this is great news!

In related news, no ad network want to work with my site yet but hey, we are still moving along. I guess us little guys are the plankton of the internet. Everyone needs small sites but no one wants us to get too big for our britches…..

Today’s new born at Zooborns is a a silvery Langur! Isn’t this a gorgeous little thing!!! My daughter exclaimed, “Langurs are from India!”  I replied, ” Many of the species of Langur(  comes from Sankrit word “Langulum” meaning long tail)  do belong to India but as Sankrit is not only an indian language so Langurs are also spread all across south asia”.
